Mesa/Boogie Dual Rectifier (Metal Riffs)

Here&a video of the iconic Mesa Dual Rectifier (this is an early Revision G model). A lot of Metal players boost this amp with pedals in front (understandably--it takes pedals really well), and therefore people might think that it can&do tight metal riffing without a boost, so I wanted to show that that¬ true. The Recto is an unforgiving amp with a response *extremely* dependent on your picking technique, so if you dig in like I do, you can pull plenty of tightness from it. Despite being one of the most legendary amps of the last few decades, I almost feel it&recently become underrated somehow. It&more versatile than some may think, and if you&after sheer size, punch and hi-fi weight, *nothing* sounds bigger. Anyway, here are a few riffs from Theocracy&"Martyr," straight into the amp (settings as shown), no boost. Into a Mesa 4x12 with Vintage 30s miked with a 57/421/87, as usual for me.
