XR1 or BR 9B Geiger Counter Review

Kind of a product review. Bought both with my own money. This Geiger counter seems to go by two names XR1-B or BR-9B or both in the ad. If you get the BR-9 make sure it is the B version, the A is electric field only. Cost on AliExpress was $42 Canadian and that included fast shipping 25 ish days. Main limitation verse the GQ GMC 500 plus (costs over $200) is the BR-9B ($42) will peg at 99.99 uSv/hr and appears to be a bit less sensitive. Display was easy to read, and you need to supply the 3 AA batteries but these can be rechargeable. No headphone jack and the speaker is not very loud. GMC 500 plus has two Geiger tubes, one for high values and one for low values, hence extensive range, whereas, BR-9B has a single Geiger tube. For the BR-9B what you see on the display is what you get, no changing the units is possible whereas, you can on the GMC 500 plus. So the BR-9B worked with normal background, slightly elevated (Potassium chloride bag), and finally Coleman Mantle (Thorium) source. Only area it would fail is very high readings but was not able to test this, which is fine with me. Conclusion: The BR-9B is not a bad Geiger counter for the price
