Yandex Search

Yandex began as a search engine in 1997. Search continues to be central to the development of our intelligent products and services, and Yandex is the leading search engine in Russia. In 2009, we introduced the MatrixNet algorithm, bringing machine learning to our search rankings. Palekh, the 2016 update to our search engine, was our first search algorithm based on a neural network, and it allows our search engine to understand the meaning behind queries. The next update, Korolyov, examined the entirety of web pages and analyzed documents on a greater scale. The most recent update, Andromeda, was released last year and introduced tools to our search results to help people more quickly find what they’re looking for.
