The Eheim 3e electronic filter is the first of its kind to give you flow rate control and constant monitoring to ensure continuous even flow and filter performance. This electronic filter has built in functions such as a water flow control to maintain a constant flow rate even with increased filter media blockage, a stream function with adjustable alternating water flow, a service indicator to let you know when the to clean the filter and features auto air out to remove air pockets under the pump head. The design incorporates a "prefilter" tray with a coarse sponge filter pad at the very top of the canister. This allows the user to open the unit and just clean this prefilter without having to pull out all the media every cleaning. The energy efficient canister utilizes heavy duty clamps to attach the motor head to the canister body. It also includes a push-primer and built in shut-offs for the hoses to make maintenance a snap.
