ShMS Gas Mask Optics test Optics test with both a scope and binoculars as well as iron sights with the Soviet ShMS mask, this version being the East German SchMS, apologies for getting the name wrong several times in the video. The ShMS was designed to work with optics such as rifle scopes, binoculars and artillery rangefinders. The majority of the masks construction is very similar to other Soviet masks such as the M41/GP5, however the ShMS features thinner rubber over the ears so the user can hear more clearly, a voice diaphragm to amplify the users voice and most importantly a flat face mould with two flat lenses compared to the lenses being slightly angled compared to most other masks.
