This is a nice entry-level 8mm / Super 8mm film transfer device. It is easy to use and set up. The loading and unloading of the film is pretty easy but care must be taken in making sure all the film is inserted under all the film guides and tabs. You can only use a 32 Gig SD card or a smaller size to save what you scanned. The upside is, that there is a 32 Gig card included. Once saved you can play the captured video out of the machine to a larger monitor or out to a video recorder. You can also output the SD card directly into your computer and into an editing program. This does not support high-definition scans which is unfortunate. The Scans are 1080P(1440*1080 30fps) MP4 so you may have to change the speed of the clips once you import them into your edit program. There is no HDMI output, only an older style USB out and a standard video out. Scans are pretty flicker-free if you set up the transfer properly. I missed the ability to do manual focusing. I think that would have been a great addition. I feel this transfer system is vintage 2018/2019, which isn&totally bad. Using the coupon made it worth the price. When you unbox it and plug it in the first time take notice of the number displayed in the lower right corner. If the # is higher than 0005 chances are it was a return. At the end of the day, it is an ok system for transferring home movies or old cartoons.
