The new Honda&turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder seems to have an issue and you wrote to us about it! We can also see a lot of internet reviews and comments about gasoline that was leaking into the oil. Most of them are owners of a brand new Honda CR-V with that engine and live in the cold area! ( seems like they have also, for most of them, Touring Version! ) The two aren&normally supposed to mix: Oil lubricates most of your engine except the combustion chamber, where fuel undergoes controlled explosions that ultimately rotate the wheels. If fuel leaks into oil-bound areas your dipstick oil will smell like fuel and you will see an excessively high reading, some also mention a fuel odors in the cabin or, in some cases, engine hesitancy or stalling. Oil dilution can also reduce the effectiveness of the oil to lubricate your engine, leading to increased engine wear. Honda is not giving us full details but we learned that a recall is on the way! It&only an update to the PGM-fi system! ( Programmed Fuel Injection (PGM-FI) Technology). Honda’s PGM-FI technology has become prevalent for delivery of air/fuel mixture to the engine via high-pressure fuel injectors!
