Team members from Korg Berlin, namely Tats, Lukas, Samantha, and Rachel who were showing first commercial release from Korg Berlin, research and development centre, set up by Tatsuya Takahashi (Tats) and team, to explore new concepts in music technology. They were showing Phase8, unique electro-mechanical instrument which employs electromagnetic fields to excite steel resonators, which, unlike traditional solenoids, vibrate to create music. Rachel explained user-friendly design, akin to familiar Korg interfaces which Tats has been responsible in past, which combines switchable resonators and sequencer that enables custom scale creation. Lukas shed light on electronics, where coil induces vibrations through resonators. Performance features include an eight-step sequencer for each resonator, allowing polymetric sequences. Additionally, connectivity options like MIDI and USB MIDI make Phase compatible with other setups, complemented by CV input for further integration. Playlists: | #Phase8 Original video:
