LA City government sure does make a strong case that there is no money in the budget. Yet, when a street is configured in a way that slows up speeders, somehow money is not an issue. The LA Times reported that a pothole fix costs between $5 and $21. By that calculation, this re-pavement cost the tax payers up to 9000 pothole fixes worth of money to install a painted in merge right up to a street that local residents want a crosswalk at.
