In his inaugural video for Timbecon, Jake takes us through Sherwood&12-inch Beast - the new heavy duty cabinet saw in the range. We learn why a 12-inch (or 12 &Units") saw has the upper hand when it comes to The Table Saw with the Lot! If Sherwood’s new Deluxe 12in Table Saw was food - it&be called the Works Burger (just hold the pineapple). It is setup so you only need to tick one box - and get everything you need in a cabinet saw. It simply has the biggest and best of everything - its the saw you buy when you want it to work hard without breaking a sweat. The carriage in these units is a massive network of ductile iron casting mounted to a large heavy-duty cabinet base. The precision in machining belies the mass in the cabinet holding things together because rise/fall and left-tilt bevel adjustments are effortless. Which makes it more accurate so you can fine-tune the saw for precision cuts with ease. All designed to cope with the extra power from the huge 15-amp motor, vibration and directional forces aren’t an issue when sawing even the thickest and hardest of timbers all the way up to maximum 102mm/4in depth of cut. That table you see is a massive 800mm deep x 1120mm wide. And that’s where most saws specification lists stop, cue the extra cost of accessories. But not here… The heavy-duty fence that comes standard glides almost weightlessly along the massive 50in rails, the quick-stop foot switch is standard. That monster overhead dust system? Yep that’s included.
