The Kyocera M8124cidn /M8130cidn MFP are new 11x17 color laser printer/ scanner/ copiers for general office use and replace the previous C8520 and C8525MFP. They are similar to their predecessors in most ways with the main difference being upgraded processors and higher resolution. The Kyocera M8124cidn setup was simple once it was unpacked as the four toners slide into their slots in the front of the machine. We were impressed with the overall build quality of these units especially as compared to the other models in this category. The Kyocera M8124 was easily added to our network allowing everyone on our network to print or scan. After adding some email addresses we were also able to scan to email, to a single address or an entire group. The touch screen display is part of an intuitive interface that makes more sense the more you use it. On paper the Kyocera M8124 was rated slowest at 24ppm but in our actual printing speed tests, the Kyocera consistently finished ahead of printers rated much faster. The Kyocera seemed to be especially efficient when auto duplex printing and copying. The M8124 and M8130 both print up to 1200X1200 dpi with an impressive 8 bit Color Depth for vivid and accurate looking color copies.
