MSI MAG B660M MortarMAX Wifi DDR4 comes w/Renasas RC26008 Clockgen to boost Intel's CPU Performance

MSI recently launched the MAG B660M Mortar MAX Wifi model. This mainboard comes with a couple of "upgrades". Mainly Wifi-6E and PCI-E 5.0 on the 16x slot. The main upgrade which makes this board so attractive is that it comes with the Renasas RC26008 clockgen chip which allows you to tweak/OC the baseclock(bclk) on a B660 chipset. This will allow you to maximise your TVB or adjust with your CPU&max bclk to increase your overall CPU performance while saving/optimising your build budget. I fiddled with the i5-12600. 2 scenario outcome: Keep Dynamic OC so you 1/2core TVB is maximised or Use fixed OC while maxing the bclk to improve max thread performance. Dynamic OC with TVB can get as high as 5.2GHz while max bclk w/fixed multiplier got fixed 5GHz. Impressive! Saving more than a penny especially when paired with a 12400/F.
