replaced the red LED&in the clipping section of the pedal (D2 and D4) with a single 1N4001 diode in D2 and a pair of 1N4001 diodes in series in D4. The result is a pedal more responsive to picking dynamics and volume control. I also find it is a smoother, more natural sounding distortion. The stock pedal was also a bit dark for my liking so I removed capacitor C22 which opened up the high end dramatically. I may find a lower value cap than the original to put in it&place, I&undecided yet. So Far I like the sound with C22 completely out of the circuit. I got the idea from searching google. This was one of a number of mods that could be done to this pedal credited to Brian Wampler of Wampler pedals. C22 removal was not apparently one of Wampler&mods, but was a commonly mentioned one I came across. Be aware you could ruin your pedal doing this if you are not comfortable with a soldering iron or inexperienced like me... I got lucky. This is my first ever actual pedal mod. I got the pedal really cheap with the intention of learning to modify pedals and some day moving on to building pedals from kits.
