Attacking Leatherback Turtle, Pico Island, Azores

When we were out on the ocean to work on the Risso&Dolphin Project for the Nova Atlantis Foundation, based on the island of Pico (Azores), we encountered a Leatherback Turtle (Dermochelys coriacea). It was very aggressive towards the boat. For example he was molesting the engine, bumping the underside of the boat and it even tried to catch a wave and come aboard.
