See the start-up of a 1.7 MW, 6 kV squirrel cage motor from 0 to 1486 min-1 at our test field. The motor was set up for noise level measurement in our Berlin test field. In this case the motor start was carried out uncoupled and without a half key. Vibration values and noise levels are within the specified tolerance range. 0:00 epic intro 0:23 cables are being connected 0:46 big electric motor start 2:05 our engineers check the details 2:27 technical data of the 1.7 megawatt motor 2:34 end card This electric motor project was about a particularly fast delivery from stock. The order came from a European oil company where a pump motor had failed. The squirrel cage motor shown here in foot design IM 1001 (IM B3) has a welded steel construction with side terminal boxes, one shaft end, and grease-lubricated roller bearings. It is designed for Zone 2 explosion-proof areas and has a tube-jacket-air-air heat exchanger. Its internal air cooling circuit is driven by internal fans mounted on the shaft. The external heat is dissipated to the ambient air via the tubular heat exchanger in the housing and the external fan installed on the NDE (cooling type IC 511).
