Subaru XV Hybrid FULL REVIEW

Subaru Superfun
Subaru is behind the ball when it comes to the magic world of charge-n-drive. XV and Forest are the first to get the waving of the electronic wand. XV is a high-riding version of the Impreza hatch. Like all Subarus (except for BRZ) XV has AWD, and a boxer engine. It makes it just the ticket for a spot of weekend fun, and we certainly did that. Subaru hybrids have a small battery bank, and tiny electric motor under the rear floor, to assist the flat-four up front. It takes the place of the spare tyre, sadly. To test both XV Hybrid models, David and I had a pair of Laguna Blue XV’s, and after collecting the cars from our secret bunker, we headed off. The pov model has hard-wearing fabric seats, whereas David’s posh model came with real cow, and bendy LED headlights. By comparison, the base model’s headlights feel like four-candles. Ask mum if you don’t know who the Two Ronnies were. The L also gets a classy glass roof, and fancy power washers for the front lights, it costs many more shekels though: Hybrid L AWD = $35,490 and Hybrid S AWD $40,790), That is around $3,000 more than their non-hybrid sisters with the 2.0i-L AWD for $31,990 and the petrol range topping 2.0i-S AWD at $37,290.
