As of August 2020, the largest known star in the universe is Stephenson 2-18. While previously the largest, UY Scuti is now ranked low as it was discovered to only have 755 Solar radii. Stephenson 2-18&radius is more than 2,000 times that of the Sun! 😎 Stephenson 2-18 is a red supergiant star within the open cluster Stephenson 2 located around 20,000 light years away from Earth in the constellation of Scutum. It is among the largest known stars and one of brightest red supergiants. It is estimated to be around 10 billion times bigger than the Sun.
