How to remove auto-floor on upper floors in The Sims 4

How to remove the floor when completing a wall or fence on the upper floors (PS4). I got really frustrated after spending quite some time working on building a house from scratch on the Sims 4, that when I completed my fence for an in-built garden area of the house I&been building, the game suddenly covered the area over with a floor.... Aaaarrggh!!! Short of leaving a small, barely noticeable gap in the fence, I didn&know what to do. After looking on Google I couldn&see any obvious answers of how to fix this problem. Luckily after a couple of minutes of trial and error, I figured it out. Here&what happens, when you build walls or fences that close an area off, the game thinks *ah, I see you&made a room. Here, let me help and put a floor down for you* .... thanks! To get rid of this you simply want to select the new "room" with "X" on the PS4 controller, after selecting the room, point the cursor on the floor, again pressing "X", not "triangle", this deletes the room. If you do don&worry, just press "L2" to undo. Once you press "X" an option should come up to "remove floor" select the cross with the cursor and Bang! the floor is gone!
