"The Blind Spot Warning (BSW) system can help alert the driver of other vehicles in the blind spot area when changing lanes. The BSW system uses the rearview monitor camera unit. The camera unit can detect vehicles on either side of your vehicle when part of another vehicle is within the detection zone. This detection zone typically starts from the outside mirror of your vehicle and extends approximately 10 feet behind the rear bumper, and approximately 10 feet to the side. When the system detects vehicles in the detection zone and the vehicle is traveling at speeds greater than approximately 20 miles-per-hour, the Blind Spot Warning indicator located on the driver&door, inside the outside rearview mirror, illuminates. If the driver then activates the turn signal, the system chimes twice and the Blind Spot Warning indicator light will flash. To turn the BSW on or off in the vehicle information display: • Press the square button on the steering wheel to reach the SETTINGS menu • Use the MENU CONTROL SWITCH to scroll through the items until you reach the Driver Assistance menu, • Press ENTER on the MENU CONTROL SWITCH • Next, select "Driving Aids" and press the ENTER button. • Use the MENU CONTROL SWITCH to scroll through the items until you reach the Blind Spot (BSW) On/Off, and then • Press ENTER on the MENU CONTROL SWITCH to toggle the BSW On or Off.
