Guitars with roasted necks and bodies always seem to have a bit more vintage flavor than normal, and Greg Fessler is awesome at optimizing his builds to maximize this woody resonance. This &Strat in particular is a shining example of his considerable talents. It has a pleasing attack that goes thoonk before blossoming into a delightful bouquet of harmonic response. Like some of my favorite old Strats, this guitar has the sort of "played-in" midrange that complements the warm, deep lows and sweet, sunny highs. So, it has a broad but well-scultped EQ with powerful resonance across the board, but it never really sounds flubby. It&also quite touch sensitive, and you can significantly alter the timbre of the guitar with your technique. This Strat is so expressive and dynamic that it&nearly impossible to put down. Anyone looking for a Strat that looks and sounds like it came straight out of a time capsule will fall head over heels for this fearsome Fessler!
