Charles Mayer: Study in G minor Op.340/15

In so far as Charles Mayer is remembered today, it is as a composer of piano studies. This is occasionally to be found in anthologies (intermediate level) and has appeared on the Irish piano exam board syllabus at grade 5. The harmonic sequence it outlines is perfectly paced and very expressive. I have emphasised this expressive quality in my recording, rather than the purely technical aspect (and you can easily find other performances on the internet which stress this aspect of the music). I have included it in the playlist with Czerny and Heller&studies.
