Der Großvater - Гросфатер

Originally a German national dance, popular in Russia at the beginning of the XIX century. It consists of two parts: andante or march, during which all the dancers march around the hall, and allegro, during which everyone repeats the figure behind the first pair. Then the march again, a new figure, etc. The dance is usually performed by everyone, including grandparents, which is why it was called the "grandfather&dance". It was usually performed at the end of the evening, when the champagne was already running out. Only a few of the many figures are dancing here. This video was recorded at the Historical Dance Festival, in Moscow, on May 1, 2024. The music is performed by the Alexandra Neronova Ensemble. Изначально немецкий национальный танец, популярный в России в начале XIX века. Состоит из двух частей: анданте или марш, во время которого все танцоры гуляют маршем по залу, и аллегро, во время которого, все повторяют фигуру за первой парой. Затем снова марш, новая фигура и т.д. Танец обычно исполняется всеми, в том числе - бабушками и дедушками, поэтому и носил название "танец дедушки".
