The q-tip test for VCH (vertical hood) piercing suitability

This video shows how to do the q-tip test (with tissue manipulation) to determine if a woman&hood is deep enough for a safe Vertical Clitoral Hood (VCH) piercing. Optimally, the piercing should be able to be placed about 3/8" (10mm) from the edge of the hood. If the entire swab tip fits underneath the hood, then it is deep enough. This applies even if the tissue needs to be manipulated (pulled down) to cover the swab tip. It is fine to de-fluff the swab to some extent (remove the cottony tip) and it is VERY helpful to lubricate the swab.
