Using a spray deck Getting afloat A spray deck is a waterproof skirt that seals around our waist and the cockpit of our sea kayak. It is going to stop our boat from filling with water which can, ultimately, make us feel unstable as it sloshes around in the boat. Initially we may choose not to use a spray deck but as we progress they will become and essential piece of kit.
