Allium caeruleum, the blue ornamental onion, is one of the very few truly blue ornamental onions, as most species and hybrids have purple flowers, or sometimes white. It is a very easy plant to grow, the small corms need to be planted in autumn and will bloom between late spring and early summer. It is a plant loved by pollinators and thrives in well drained soil and full sun, as most Alliums do.
