1985. The Type IV retains the aluminum telescoped cantilever and dual-function suspension block. The only change is in the shape of the stylus. The Microridge stylus traces 50% more of the record groove than the hyper-elliptical shape. The MR stylus grip has a chrome nameplate instead of the HE black plate.
