Goliath (/ɡəˈlaɪəθ/; Hebrew: גָּלְיָת, Modern Golyat, Tiberian Golyāṯ; Arabic: جالوت Ǧulyāt (Christian term), Ǧālūt (Qur&term)) of Gath (one of five city-states of the Philistines) is the Biblical warrior defeated by the young David in the Book of Samuel.
