A couple of Sony Ericsson clamshells designed for review today. Separated by 3 years, I&looking at the Sony Ericsson Z600, released in 2003. Alongside the Sony Ericsson W300 - released in 2006. Two classic retro mobiles. *Apologies, there are a couple of inaccuracies in the graphical stats section* The 2003 Z600 had the facility to have interchangeable covers which was a big bonus in the mid 2000s. Space Silver and Cosmo Black, Coral and Silky Red, and Rainbow Stripe and Electric Blue were all available cover options. A sturdy (cell) phone, it was let down by a poor camera which. The design, in fairness, seems like a bit of an after thought - like as if they were creating a candy bar style and then just added the flip bit on at the last minute There is an external LCD included, however it is a bit on the small side. At 3.5 by 1.9 by 1.06 inches, it&can&claim to be on the thin side, however at 110 grams, it wasn&on the heavy side. On the plus side however, the model did get a boost with strong battery performance in conjunction with Bluetooth and Infrared connectivity. The 65,536-color display produces excellent picture quality - certainly one of the best that I&seen on a mobile from around this era. On the handsets rear side sits the camera lens and a small mirror, however, with just a 0.1 mp camera, the quality was very poor.
