On 1st of August 1944 the uprising of the whole city of Warsaw, against the falling Nazis, broke out. Also - it was to show the Red Army, who just was at the outskirts of the city, that Stalin&accounts to get Poland at the lowest cost, will not be possible. More than 300 000 citizens of Warsaw gave their lives - strangled by the smoke, burnt by fire, killed by bullets and by the direct murder of Dirlewanger & Ukrainian troops, by starvation or by the tumbling houses - to prove Stalin he will have problems with swallowing Poland as easy as a cherry. Red Army in its whole stood and waited by Vistula River bank watching Warsaw burn out on the opposite side, and hoping, the best of Poles are burning with it. A few decades later, the children and grand-children of those who had been fighting in 1944, made "Solidarity". Aston, in his Polish-English sings all his unbearable pain at the news about death in ruins of his beloved city, Warszawa.
