In this video you can see how I created a mock up display of the classic Nintendo Donkey Kong game on an Arduino Uno. The display module used is an ST7735S 80x160 TFT screen sourced from eBay. I made static single-color bitmap images for the girders, ladders and oil drum, but Mario and the princess are moveable multicolor sprites. 00:00 - Introduction 02:00 - Wiring TFT to Arduino 02:26 - Install Graphics Libraries 03:12 - TFT Display Test 04:30 - TFT Troubleshooting 04:50 - Color Issues 05:30 - Static monochrome sprites 06:50 - Moving full color sprites The graphics were created using the Adafruit GFX library and the Adafruit ST7735 and ST7789 library. I didn&have too many problems using this TFT display. The main issue I had was that the color codes were different to those specified in the GFX library. In this video I show you how to resolve this - it&likely you&have the same issue if you buy your TFT display from eBay. There is also some flickering at the top and right hand side of the display which I haven&yet resolved. Drop a comment below if you know how to fix it. Questions or suggestions? The motion looks pretty smooth in real life. I&also add the colors look much more vibrant in...
