Join us on a heart-pumping journey as we venture deep into the Costa Rican jungle in search of the elusive black-headed Bushmaster (Lachesis melanocephala), also known as Plato Negro, cascabel muda, or matabuey. As passionate wildlife conservationists, we were thrilled to discover this venomous snake, but we made sure to keep our distance - even a small amount of its potent venom can be deadly if left untreated! Despite its fearsome reputation, this Bushmaster was surprisingly calm and collected as we snapped photos and admired its impressive fangs. We couldn&resist using a trail camera trap to capture its every move, and were thrilled to discover that this beauty had a clutch of eggs just waiting to hatch! But that¬ all - we also witnessed something truly special for the first time: the Bushmaster&striking infrared eyeshine. It was like something out of a sci-fi movie! Join us on this unforgettable journey and learn all about the importance of wild snake conservation. Who knows? Maybe you&even catch a glimpse of the elusive black-headed Bushmaster yourself! If you happen to see or hear of a Bushmaster in the Southern Zone of Costa Rica, please contact Guido and/or Marcelo through their emails: Send a photo if possible and your location in the Southern Zone. Just a quick note about the participants of the video. They were instrumental in helping get this video finished. Thank You! Guido Saborio: I met Guido and first looked for Bushmasters with him almost 10 years...
