Step-by-step guide on how to reset Ford SYNC software on Ford Explorer SUV. You can do soft reset through the Settings option on the main dashboard screen or hard reset by removing the Ford Sync fuse. ( 2011 | 2012 | 2013 | 2014 | 2015 | 2016 | 2017 | 2018 | 2019 | XL | XLT | LIMITED | SPORT | 3.5L | ECOBOOST ). Common reasons why would you be doing Ford SYNC Reset are: - Blank main dash screen or screen freezing up - Screen non responsive or very slow - Bluetooth problems - Backup camera problems - Radio problems - Climate controls problems Soft reset can be done through the main menu. Press Wheels( Settings) button on the screen and select System. Scroll all the way down to Master Reset and select it. Make sure to remove your SD card and disconnect all Bluetooth and USB Devices before proceeding. Hard reset can be done by removing the Ford SYNC fuse for a few minutes. Fuse is located in a small fuse box under the steering wheel. To access it first remove plastic cover which is held by two screws. Then remove the small fuse box cover. Now you have access to all fuses: Ford Explorer 2011 - 2015 (remove Fuse 20A for a few minutes) Ford Explorer 2016 - 2019 (remove Fuse 10A for a few minutes) Usually one of these two resets will "fix" any glitches or smaller problems you are having with Ford SYNC. If not you can take the vehicle to a Ford Dealer and they can scan the sync module for any error codes or possibly update the Ford Sync software. Thanks for watching.
