I think you need to take off the front cover first, but I was only able to remove the bottom cover and broke one of the plastic pieces doing so. It took me about 6 hours total, including research. You can find the battery on alibaba by searching for "IFR26650XP 3.2V 4400mah lifepo4 battery" ($9 + $50 shipping) OR Search for sonicrepair on ebay. He has a listing for fixing this device. He may sell you the battery for $35 or fix it himself for $75. I would just have him fix it.
