Candytuft, Iberis Sempervirens, Cut Back After Blooms June 1

Candytufts have bloomed out. Starting to form seed heads. New growths are getting longer. Time to cut back. If left alone, they will get woody and leggy. That may work for some but not for my small yard. I need to keep them small and bushy. Cutting back now will provide more space, light and air circulation for other plants. Timing is important so there is no energy wasted in making seeds and new stems that may possibly be cut later. I have experimented with a variety of ways to cut back to see if re-blooming is possible or not. My conclusion is that they will not re-bloom, regardless of how I cut them, in our zone and environment.
