Setting up a Behringer BCF2000 with Apple Silicon M1, M2, M3 processors for Ableton Live

This video describes how to setup a Behringer BCF2000 (same logic can be used to apply to a BCR2000) to work with Apple&M1, M2, M3 silicon processors. Currently, a BCF can send control data to Ableton, but cannot receive data, rendering the motorised faders useless. This video demonstrates how to regain some of that functionality. ----- There are two methods to adjust how the BCF sends out MIDI data. By default the BCF will send out on MIDI Channel 1 which will clash with many other devices. If you&happy with using channel 1, you can use the LEARN button to adjust parameters. Press the LEARN button and move/press the control you want to adjust, then use QLab to send the MIDI you want it to learn. For example, to have fader 1 send out MIDI CC101, press and hold LEARN whilst moving fader 1. The LED display will show EDI for EDIT. Send a MIDI CC 101 from QLab (the MIDI channel is irrelevant). Once received the BCF will come out of Edit mode, and back to “P-1”. The fader will now send out MIDI CC101 when moved. You can’t adjust the MIDI channel using this method. To adjust the channel and/or the CC, press and hold the EDIT button, then move the fader or press the button you want to adjust. Then the rotery knobs can be adjusted as labelled - so Rotary Encoder 2 will adjust the MIDI Channel, and Rotary Encoder 3 will adjust the MIDI CC sent out. For example, rotate encoder 2 to set to MIDI Ch 16, and rotate encoder 3 to CC 101. Default MIDI map: Rotary encoders 1 - 8: CC 1...
