Back in 2009 KTM reinvented the touring supermoto concept with the KTM 990 SMT which was basically a stripped-back adventure bike with a focus on fun. Now, a decade after the original machine was discontinued, the idea is back with the 890 SMT. Incorporating elements from the 890 Adventure and 890 Duke, the 890 SMT divides the distinction with the high-riding Tarmac-focused attitude of the road fighter. Sharper, sleeker, sportier and uncompromising, this regeneration of KTM&icon will wipe out all road traffic. The KTM 890 SMT is back in the spotlight with a realignment of the KTM 890 LC8c platform to reach the pinnacle of the Supermoto touring segment for power torque-to-weight ratio and rely on 105 hp at 8,000 rpm. The Dell&dual throttle body ensures optimum momentum while fuel consumption from the 15.8-liter tank is very low at 4.6 liter/100 km. The tank plays a strong role in ergonomics and has been simplified and specially designed, the shape of the tank pushes the rider further into the bike assisted by a Supermoto-shaped single seat with a height of 860 mm. The aero-optimized smoked windshield is positioned just above the dual fender concept with low splash guards on the fork legs. In terms of the chassis, the KTM 890 SMT has a CroMo steel frame with a tighter geometry.
