Mazda Tribute ABS Sensor and ABS Ring

Photo slideshow of 2003 model year Mazda Tribute ABS speed sensor and also a cracked ABS speed ring (tone ring). Believed to be similar to 2003 Ford Escape and Ford Maverick. In this case, the ABS light was occasionally coming on (e.g, once a week). If the ignition was turned off and on again, the error cleared itself. I disconnected the sensor electrical connection and reconnected it, and also took the sensor out and cleaned it. The problem seems to have corrected itself. If the problem returns, sensors aren&expensive (on ebay from approx €30), and are easily changed. The cracked ABS ring in the photo had been replaced on the other front wheel a few months earlier and is now OK.
