Volkswagen Touareg 2018 vs AUDI Q7 2018 A reliable vehicle saves its owner time, money and trouble. Nobody wants to be stranded or have to be without a vehicle while it’s being repaired. Consumer Reports rates the Q7’s reliability 68 points higher than the Touareg. J.D. Power and Associates’ 2016 survey of the owners of three-year-old vehicles provides the long-term dependability statistics that show that Audi vehicles are more reliable than Volkswagen vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Audi 11th in reliability, above the industry average. With 35 more problems per 100 vehicles, Volkswagen is ranked 25th. From surveys of all its subscribers, Consumer Reports’ April 2017 Auto Issue reports that Audi vehicles are more reliable than Volkswagen vehicles. Consumer Reports ranks Audi fourth in reliability. Volkswagen is ranked 22nd. The Q7 2.0T’s standard 2.0 turbo 4 cyl. produces 7 lbs.-ft. more torque (273 vs. 266) than the Touareg’s 3.6 DOHC V6. The Q7 3.0T’s standard 3.0 supercharged V6 produces 53 more horsepower (333 vs. 280) and 59 lbs.-ft. more torque (325 vs. 266) than the Touareg’s 3.6 DOHC V6.
