A demonstration of Spiral Stabilisation exercises using the principle of stretching over-tight muscles to restore normal joint positioning, so you can then strengthen the weaker muscles. Before going into private practice, Anthony garnered great expertise as a health professional. He qualified as a physiotherapist in 1987 and then undertook postgraduate courses in orthopaedic medicine before becoming a member of the Manipulative Association of Chartered Physiotherapists. Anthony also spent four years treating some of the world’s greatest athletes at the Crystal Palace National Sports Centre and has lectured for the M.Sc. Sports medicine course at the London Hospital. Trained at the original London School of Pilates, Karen now specialises in injury rehabilitation and postural re-education. She holds a diploma in Sports and Remedial Massage Therapy from the North London School of Sports Massage and is a member of the Institute of Sports and Remedial Massage Therapists. With over 15 years’ experience teaching health and fitness, Karen has helped hundreds of people improve their lives after identifying the benefits of ‘Pilates’ and massage therapies. Spiral stabilisation is an exercise method invented by Czech medical doctor Dr Smisek, developed for those with slipped discs and scoliosis, and proven to be successful in Germany for over 20 years.
