NOTE FOR ACTUAL GAMEPLAY: On Linux (especially when using shaders) I recommend to set Render Regions to ON & Max Framerate to VSYNC for a smooth experience. Render Regions have been turned OFF for the video because they introduce a vary frame rate based on the area visible on the screen. For 5700XT owners on Linux: The stable Mesa driver (20.1.8) has some performance issues with shaders in Optifine, but this has been fixed with the latest dev build (20.3). Consider using it to play with shaders. For comparison I used the same Minecraft instance on both Windows and Linux to maintain identical settings. General Settings -------------------------- Resolution: 1920x1080 Graphics - Fancy Smooth Lighting - Maximum Max Framerate - Unlimited (I recommend using VSYNC for smoother gameplay) Render Distance - 12 (I usually play with 16 and still maintain stable 60FPS) Optifine Settings -------------------------- Render Regions - OFF (Turn it on for smoother gameplay!) Smart Animations - ON Smooth FPS - OFF Lazy Chunk Loading - ON Fast Render - ON Fast Math - ON Smooth World - ON Dynamic Updates - ON Mods used ------------------ Recommended mods ---------------------------------- Recommended resource packs ------------------------------------------------- Recommended shader packs ----------------------------------------------- My system ------------------ OS: Manjaro Linux (Gnome + Xorg) / Windows 10 CPU: AMD Ryzen 3600 RAM: 16GB 3200Mhz GPU: AMD Radeon 5700XT
