The R7 3700X is still a pretty good cpu, in my opinion, if you can find one for a good price. The AMD Ryzen 7 5800X came out in 2020, it has 8 cores with 16 threads, the base frequency is 3.8GHz and the turbo frequency is 4.7GHz. The R7 5800X has a TDP of 105W and has a transistor size of 7 nm.
