Antique Music Box Collection. The Phonograph. We are exploring some of the musical items we have for sale on Floor two of Sally Antiques. In this video, Ross gives a short demo of a late 19th century Swiss Cylinder Music Box and also a phonograph by American Inventor, Thomas Edison. The phonograph was developed in 1877 when Edison was working on improvements to the telegraph and the telephone. In its later forms the phonograph was known as a gramophone. The phonograph is documented as one of Edison&favourite inventions. We are sure you will agree these are music to the ears!
