For Halloween, my arrangement of a creepy 400 year old Scottish Ballad ---- The Two Ravens (Twa Corbies) - Child Ballad 26 Traditional As I was walking all alone I heard two ravens make a moan The one unto the other did say-O Where shall we go and dine today-O Where shall we go and dine today? In yonder field, beside the dike It&there I&seen a new slain knight There&nobody knows that he lies there-O But his hawk, his hound and his lady fair-O But his hawk, his hound and his lady fair His hawk is to the hunting gone His hound to fetch the wild fowl home His lady&taken another man-O So we can have our dinner sweet-O So we can have our dinner sweet You sit on his horse&neck And from his head his eyes I&peck And with a lock of his golden hair-O We&mend our nest when it grows bare-O We&mend our nest when it grows bare Nobody knows where he&gone So nobody knows, for him to mourn O&his white bones, when they are bare-O The wind shall blow for evermore-O The wind shall blow for evermore
