Stairway To Heaven by Led Zeppelin. This guitar lesson is about how to play the Transition section between verse 6 (six) and the Lead section. Here is the playlist for this song. This is a simple version - a more accurate version is coming. When Stairway To Heaven came out it in 1971 it was an immensely popular song. There are a lot of classic riffs that came out of Stairway, and many other songs of that era, that have made their way into modern guitar playing. Stairway utilizes open position chords and barre chords in a creative way. The song was so popular during the 1970&it seemed that you could walk into any music store and someone would be playing a piece of Stairway to Heaven. That&why in the movie Wayne&World the spoof "No Stairway To Heaven" was so funny. The riff Wayne starts to play just before we see the sign doesn&even remotely resemble any part of the song. In fact, what we hear is a diminished chord, but there are none in the song. SUPPORT ME AT: There is also extra video content that is not on YouTube.
