The Boss DF-2 Super Feedbacker & Distortion and the Line6 Dr. Distorto both are stompboxes that offer you the same effects: distortion and synthesized feedback. In this video I&show you how they differ from each other. They are from different decades: the DF-2 is from the late 80s whereas the Dr. Distorto is from the late zeroes. The time period also hints what technology is being used: the Boss&distortion is analog and the Line6 is digital, as well as both of their feedback generators. In this video I&used my Fender HSS Stratocaster on the bridge humbucker ans recorded it with a Boss RC-3 Loop Station. After that it goes into the Boss DF-2, Line6 Dr. Distorto and into the amp, which is a Blackstar HT1R. The amp is on the dirty channel, but the gain is set low so it doesn&distort by itself yet, but when you turn op the volume of one of the pedals it&start to break up. The output is recorded with a DI where a 4x12 cab is added in postproduction and an actual 2x12 cab which is mic&up. The backing track in the RC-3 has been pre-recorded and hard panned to the right, so when you upload it to the RC-3 and play it back, you&only hear it from output B.
