A long time ago, Mazda told us that they would bring a diesel engine in North-America! Now it&done because you can get a Mazda CX-5 Signature AWD with the Skyactiv-D 2.2-liter diesel engine! The CX-5 Signature AWD with Skyactiv-D 2.2 provides a high torque driving experience and revs freely at high RPMs. The Skyactiv-D 2.2 delivers 168 horsepower at 4,000 rpm and 290 lb-ft of torque at 2,000 rpms. The CX-5 is now available with four Skyactiv engines: the Skyactiv-G 2.5 L gasoline engine, the Skyactiv-G 2.5 L engine with Cylinder Deactivation, the Skyactiv-G 2.5 L gasoline engine with Dynamic Pressure Turbo, and the Skyactiv-D 2.2 L turbocharged diesel engine. Test notes: Done on tarmac, not snow! It&only to show rolling shots that we did some filming on a snow-covered road. No need to pre-charge the turbo with a brake gas pedal action because the CX-5 diesel will slips from the front wheels as a significant amount of torque is applied at the startline. Best numbers were achieved by just flooring it from a standstill. There is no sports mode on that diesel version of the Mazda Cx-5. But how fast is the Cx-5 Diesel? Check out our video of the Mazda CX-5 Diesel 0-60mph acceleration test with Dragy to find out!
