This was my first time for growing Tzimbalo Melon Pear. I had no idea what to expect, except for what the fruit looked like in a picture. Even though it took a while for them to germinate, once they started growing, they were actually pretty easy to grow. Then once they got outside in our garden, they were VERY hardy. I had to give them a heavy pruning about once a month. If I didn&they tried to take over the garden. They spread out in all directions and quickly tried to make my garden into a melon pear plantation. I also found that blister beetles loved them, which gives them potential as a trap crop.
