Here&a Super Easy Guitar Riff For Beginners - a "chromatic guitar riff" It’s time to learn a Riff by the God of Guitar himself. This is Hey Joe by Jimi hendrix. Every guitarist needs to know at least a few Jimi Riffs/Songs. If you want to learn how to properly play the guitar, you gotta study some Jimi! This is chapter 9 - the graduation module from chapter 1 in 5 Minute guitar. If you’ve been following the program in order, it’s now time to graduate you. This is an example of how practicing scales makes learning Guitar Riffs way easier. We are literally playing the left hand pattern of the warm up scale, just moving it around. Tips for this Riff - -Make sure you are alternate picking! Everytime you come to a new string, it is an upstroke. The right hand pattern is simply down up down up for the whole riff. If you are struggling with remembering to downstroke and upstroke, try saying down up down up out loud while you run this guitar riff! -After the first 5 notes, The left hand fingering is constantly 1st then 2nd, then 3rd, then 4th. Each finger climbing one fret higher. So just figure out where your first finger goes. If you can remember where to put your first finger, you’ve got this riff! Every time, the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th fingers just stack behind the first finger. Use the backing track provided to really nail this super easy beginner guitar riff!
