How to repair a hybrid IC IPM used in Plasma TVs Part 2

This shows how to repair a YPPD-J017C YPPD-J018 IC used on the Z-sustain board of a 42inch plasma TV. There are two transistors which are most likely IGBTs which are blown. I had them replaced with two MOSFETs but was unaware of the high peak currents involved. This videos shows what option we have in order to choose the right replacement component. These Hybrid ICs are used in several Plasma TVs. There is a pretty simple circuitry inside and if you don`t want or can spend the money on a replacement module you could try to repair it. Depending on the model they can be really expensive online whereas replacing the individual faulty parts might be much cheaper. You will need a powerful soldering iron or a normal soldering iron and a heating plate. A stove may work too. The hybrid IC needs to be preheated in order to solder something on it. STK795-821, STK795-820, YPPD-J014, YPPD-J015, YPPD-J016, YPPD-J017, YPPD-J018, YPPD-017c, YPPD-018C, YPPD-J014C, YPPD-J017C etc could all be candidates for a repair.
