Extrema Ratio HF2D field review in English language. Part 2 field review of my Extrema Ratio HF2D liner lock folder. Made in Italy from N690 (HRC 58- providing a good balance of toughness, hardness and corrosion resistance) and T8082 Aluminium alloy and associated stainless components, this big (open it&approx. 12 inches long!) folder has an interesting and practical feature of a safety pin for severe usage. I gather fat wood; bash the blade with a fallen log; collect wild food and tinder material. No movement in the mechanism after usage, comfortable without gloves on; cuts hardwood (wild plum) no problems as it came deadly razor sharp and the edge geometry is right on; plus some levering of fat wood to test it&lateral strength. The Extrema Ratio HF2D carries well in a simple well stitched black ballistic nylon belt pouch. I swapped (not necessary really-I had them lying around- see my video about them) out the split ring that holds the safety pin and replaced it with a much stronger 90Kg breaking strength (fishing) split ring. Don&forget to watch part one where I explain my version of this knife and read my extensive blog about the Extrema Ratio HF2 Read my extensive blog about the Extrema Ratio HF2D here: Anyway as always you be the judge.
